Am I really qualified to do this?

I recently shared on Instagram that I’ll be making a change come 2024 to my businesses. You’ll now have the option to work with me as your mentor. I’ll help you navigate your way through your overall wellness journey.

You see, I believe that health is more than just being physically fit. It’s mindset, self love, letting things go, being accepting. I am updating all the things on my website and I’ll be sharing more details soon.

But then I thought… Am I really qualified to do this? My life is not “put” together by any means. I work from home, out of the home on a few days, and I’m with my kids all the time. Should I really be teaching women how to have an overall wellness lifestyle if I am in the trenches of my own?

I answered myself quite quickly, yes, Yes I can because even though I am still learning. We are all under construction. I have overcome so much and have created ways that help myself feel good. And if that helps just one more person, I am going to share that knowledge.

I’ve also overcome so much when it comes to the health aspect; food, physical movement. Not many will admit it, but there’s so much mindset when it comes to food/ physical movement. And when those moments come during your time, I’ll be ready to help you move past them.

You see, my fitness career started almost a decade ago. I was in the online space trying to feel better in my skin and that’s also when I started growing an online fitness business. Once I received my personal training certificate, I started to learn a different way about fitness. The fitness industry can be so contradicting. One person says one thing and someone else says another. Most times, it’s best to just stick in your own lane and do what you know best.

Over the course of my career I’ve learned and grown through so much. And a lot of times, when I begin to work with a personal training client, I hear the same things over and over. “How do I..?” “When do I…?” It was like recognizing a pattern, not of bad things, but just almost like a checklist of how they were moving through their process.

One of two things would happen. 1. They’d trust me and push through that road block. 2. They weren’t ready to push through that yet.

So now, I’m here to offer you the assistance to guide you through the challenges instead of saying “well good luck with that.” I’ll give you the tools and prompts to help you overcome whatever it is you need help past.

There’s a few things I can tell you now for certain that have helped; journaling and giving grace. Journaling because sometimes you just need to release that emotion. I heard a study that 85% of people who write their feelings/ thoughts down are more happy throughout the day. Giving yourself grace. Look honestly, we all know that life is going to happen and we all have bad days.

Kids didn’t nap so that workout didn’t happen or you are  emotional so you had the chocolate bar instead of the apple. Stop feeling guilty about that. So you didn’t workout one day of the week on said program. Did you lose a limb? No. Now you get the opportunity to do it the next day- what a blessing! This may sound simple like “oh yeah i know that” but you’d be surprised at the people who say “ gosh, I needed that.” after having a conversation.

So back to my question: “Am I really qualified to do this?” My answer is simple; YES!

I am so excited to bring this vision to life and to help more people during their wellness journey. Just health is more than just physical.
