Believe it or not, but self love is not getting out for a nail appointment or getting your hair done. Don’t get me wrong, those are acts of self love, but not all self love is in that form.
Over the years since having kids, I’ve learned there are many ways of giving yourself some self love. It’s having a nice night time wind down self care routine & same with a wake routine. It’s taking moments throughout the day to just notice. Notice; how you feel, what’s making you happy/unhappy, pausing to just breathe, all of these things are acts of self love. ANd it’s because you are being aware of you.
This practice is not easy because we live in a world where we are constantly being pulled to something; work, kids, technology. It’s something I am still working towards, remember we are all under construction- no one is perfect or done growing.
Some acts of self love I’ve been incorporating;
Waking up early enough to make my coffee and read my devotionals.
Getting dressed as soon as I can- no matter if I’m home for the day or going out.
Doing my hair/ make up- even just a little. It makes me feel confident and if I feel that, I can handle situations better that come up throughout the day.
Doing a quick picking up the house for 5 to 10 minutes. Listen, set the time and give this a try.
Working out- even a 30 minute walk to lift makes me feel so dang good.
Eating enough food. I’ll save the in depth of this for another blog because I could go on a rant here, make sure you’re eating enough food.
Taking time to just pause throughout the day- sometimes when I feed the baby, I don’t even keep my phone next to me. Just breathe, look at whatever is in front of you, how do you feel?
Being with my family, sometimes we don’t even speak. We will all be doing something but being in the same room makes me happy. I know my family is safe at that moment.
Night time routine. Prepare for a good night’s rest.
I am sure there is something I am missing in there. But you get this jist.
Since we are in a very busy time; traveling, work parties, Christmas, New Years, all the things.
I made a typo the other day when I sent my last blog post. I said “I am now accepting new clients..” well, what I meant was as of January first I am. I wanted to share this info with you first since you are on my email list:
